Kababaihan Festival

In connection with Women’s Month celebration, different women’s organizations had gathered to show the people the importance of women in the world.  Women’s groups from different Barangays had participated. Over a thousand of participants had made it in order to give honor to the celebration of Women’s Month.

In coordination with the City Government of Baguio, National Government Agencies and ROGFP and City GAD Focal Persons, Non-Government, LGU’s, Barangay Women’s Organizations and City GAD Focal Persons Kabalikat Civicom Assisted the parade from Banco de Oro to Convention Center. Traffic situation had been properly manage in different places. Several instances had been reported such as the lack of cooperation of some red plate cars and hot headed drivers.  The parade took almost two hours that caused heavy traffic and made the Central Business District a busy place for the motorists.

Generally, the parade had been done successfully. The endpoint of the parade was held in  Convention Center were people had grouped together and presented the awarding of Ten Outstanding Women Leaders and Best Performing Barangay Women’s Organizations of 2011. With the full-hearted support of Kabalikat Civicom to the women in the world, our volunteer action was dedicated to our loving Mother, Lolas, Sisters, and to all women in the world!

Panagbenga Festival

In celebration of Panagbenga Festival 2011, different organizations in Baguio City had submitted a letter of intent to voluntarily give their services as a part of their purpose of helping people. Kabalikat Civicom believes that serving humanity is serving God as its main purpose. In this regard, the full support of Kabalikat Civicom 22, 23, 264, 259 Chapters in Panagbenga Festival Celebration had been dedicated together with the different chapters from lowland such as Kabalikat Dagupan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Muntinlupa and etc...

The area of responsibilities of Kabalikat Civicom is in the “O” shape of maharlika, Hotel Veniz and Igorot Garden. February 26 and 27 2011 had been a very busy day for Session Road. Grand Street Parade for the first day and Grand Float Parade for the Second day. Operatives started to operate at early 4:00 in the morning. The whole Session Road was covered down to Harrizon Road until it reached the Athletic Bowl.

With the help of Kabalikat Muntinlupa Health Care Group with their ambulance, emergency cases had been facilitated. Reports such as the caught of Pocket Pickers, rescuing and emergency cases, crowd control, and etc. had been accomplished.

Even though TV Patrol had reported an issue of being arrogant of COM groups of Baguio and Kabalikat operatives were captured City government of Baguio gave their gratitude to all of the accomplishments Kabalikat had performed. Later on ABS-CBN sent their sorry for what they have reported and explained about the error.

Generally, whatever happened in that two days of operation still the serving humanity is the main issue to serve God. National founder Tatay Gil dela torre was there to support and witness the success of the group. Two thumbs up to Kabalikat Civicom!

Summary of SUMVAC Accomplishment Report

KABALIKAT CIVICOM
BAGUIO CHAPTER


Every year, communication groups in Baguio City are conducting their summer vacation operation to assist the tourist in coordination with City Disaster Coordinating Council. A Bayanihan and Volunteerism is being practiced by these communication groups in order to give help and support to the people and City Government Of Baguio City.
We, the KABALIKAT CIVICOM had also conducted and volunteered for the SUMVAC operation with an A.O.R at Camp John Hay Rotonda as our Comand post and part of DPS Compound, South Drive, Green Water, Military Cut-off until the entrance going to Hillside and Scout barrio Subdivision Station 4. as our assigned area of responsibilities. Coordination to other Com Group has been coordinated such as for Medical, Crime and for traffic enforcement.
On the First day of our SUMVAC operation March 28, 2010 KABALIKAT CIVICOM-BAGUIO CHAPTER had already encountered an incident about traffic enforcement. With the help of our communication gadget through our radio the incident was automatically coordinated with the City Disaster Coordinating Council and everything that must be done followed. There were two incidents of "Banggaan" (no fatalities) but just resulted into "areglo".
Most of the tourists were asking for their destination here in Baguio City and as a part of our operation we provided the Baguio City Map from the Department of Tourism. Traffic enforcement has been properly managed and tourists has been properly served. In that situation we proved to our selves how responsible we are as volunteers.
Generally, using the communication gadgets, banners and other facilities the mission for SUMVAC from March 28-April 4, 2010 has been accomplished by the operatives of KABALIKAT CIVICOM-Baguio Chapter..

KABALIKAT CIVICOM BAGUIO CHAPTER ATTENDED THE FINAL MEETING ON SUMVAC 2010 OPERATION

Seems all systems go for security measures during the Holy Week in this SUMMER CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES as thousands of tourists and visitors are expected to troop here and spend the five-day Holy Week break.

Volunteerism here in Baguio City is alive and active as the City Disaster Coordinating Council Conducted the final meeting late afternoon today March 26, 2010 for SUMVAC operation this year.

Agenda talked about includes: Acknowledgement of Participants, Updates on the letter of intent, Reports of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) with their operational plans, Problems on power supply in area of responsibility (AOR) answered by BENECO, Cleanliness drive, and other matters.

Just like the past years, the KABALIKAT CIVICOM-BAGUIO CITY CHAPTER wholeheartedly participated the SUMVAC to show the real meaning of volunteerism especially to this kind of occasions. The letter of intent and confirmation has been filed ang confirmed

SUMVAC will start March 28, 2010. Number coding is suspended until May 14, 2010.
